Wanaka Festival of Colour
Between 12 and 17 April 2011, the Southern Lakes Festival of Colour is taking place. The festival is a biennial celebration of the arts, offering six days of exciting and inspiring music, theatre, dance, and visual arts.
The festival is based in Wanaka, New Zealand, but features events throughout the Otago region, including Queenstown. A number of musical acts have been confirmed already, including The Phoenix Foundation, Anna Coddington and Michael Houstoun, as well as theatrical performances from Riverside Drive and Rita and Douglas.
The Festival of Colour is an event not to be missed.
Arrowtown Autumn Festival
The Arrowtown Autumn Festival takes place between 29 April and 8 May 2011 and is a celebration of the colours of autumn, seen throughout the historic town. The festival features over 50 events including a street parade, arts and crafts market, street entertainment, a musical, an art exhibition, comedy, jazz and country music plus much more.
Arrowtown is situated 20km from Queenstown, in the centre of New Zealand’s Lakes District. Originally a gold mining town, Arrowtown is now renowned for the golden autumn colours that saturate the landscape in April and May.
